Bought this front light for my urban commuter bike and paired it with a Force Alarm tail light (my review for the tail light will be under that product). Overall, it’s definitely a solid front light.
Prevedi pomoću Google-aPrikaži originalIt features high and low beams (or more accurately, concentrated and diffused beams) with a good variety of modes.
However, personally, I’d prefer to have an adjustable intensity specifically for the low (diffused) beam.
It offers good side visibility through the body cutouts, and the metal casing feels premium to the touch. The simplicity of having one large button to control the entire light might be a plus for someone, but I’d prefer two separate buttons for the diffused and concentrated beams, similar to what some Vayox lights offer.
The rubber cover for the USB-C port isn't very tight. On rocky or rough roads, it occasionally pops out + found water drops inside after few rides while raining. On the plus side, it's removable—I took it off and installed a custom rubber type-C plug. It might not look factory-perfect, but it keeps the water out. Sometimes, you can also feel a slight play between the metal and plastic parts; hopefully, this doesn't compromise its waterproofing over time.
The mounting system is solid. Tested mounting it upside down with original mount to keep the handlebar uncluttered - looks very cool (though I eventually ordered a separate out-front mount, like the ones used for bike computers).
Compared to other lights in my arsenal, it's a very competitive option with a large battery capacity. The optics aren't quite at the pro level of the Magicshine Evo 1700 (see my separate review for that), but they are significantly better than what Vayox offers. The factory presets are sufficient.
While Magicshine lets you customize modes via an app, Force (like Vayox) limits you to the manufacturer's presets.
All three brands use USB-C, Magicshine supports "use while charging" according to the description, my tests show that Force also supports it, but it is not mentioned in the description, sooo… on your own risk.
What I spotted, Force matches Magicshine in battery life, has a great mount, and looks good on the bike.
I often use it for night-time patrols of my area and it does the job flawlessly. It also works great as a primary or backup light for evening walks.
Overall, I highly recommend it (10/10). Paired with the Force Alarm tail light, it provides excellent visibility for any urban commuter bike.
